Ahead of the Game

So our little man got the coolest toy today. It is a teething bear with crinkly sounds, squeaky sounds, colorful chewable appendages of varying shapes and a soft head to gnaw on. Peanut is absolutely fascinated with it. While he began exploring his new eatable friend, Drummer Man and I read the packaging material (go figure) which included some developmental milestones to mark off.
Well, according to www.amazingbaby.net, at 6 months a little one should be able to:
  • sit unaided for short periods of time
  • Play with sounds and respond to noises and speech
  • Pick up objects with thumb and forefinger
  • Play "peek-a-boo"; showing an understanding of "out of sight is not out of mind"
  • Reach and hold objects with both hands
P-Nut turned 5 months 4 days ago and already does all of them! Clever little Peanut.
Tonight he assumed the official crawling position! Then he went back to scooching position, but he was there! (Boy are we in for it!)

He has also discovered...... his THUMB. I don't know whether to be excited or dismayed. Oh well, he likes it and it is sure cute to watch (right now anyway.)

Keep it up P-Nut! These little ones learn so quickly!
